The BBC has announced that it has axed Saturday night drama Robin Hood. The series, produced by Tiger Aspect, has been plagued with cast departures in recent months.

Keith Allen will not return for a fourth series of Robin Hood, he has announced.
The actor has decided to pursue new projects after playing the Sheriff of Nottingham on the BBC One drama since its launch in 2006.
Speaking to the South Wales Evening Post, Allen explained: "I doubt I'll go back for a fourth series if they do one - it's boring to work on now. I've done three series, and I'd like to move on to something else."

Tiger Aspect Productions' hit series Robin Hood returns to BBC One this Spring with a host of new faces. During 13 action-packed episodes the quest continues for justice and freedom for all.
It is three months since Marian's untimely death and Robin (Jonas Armstrong) is a changed man. Tougher, he's sacked his gang since they all returned from the Holy Land. Not only that – he's hell bent on avenging his wife's tragic end.

Robin Hood star quits BBC remake

Jonas Armstrong, who plays Robin Hood in the BBC's remake of the classic tale, is to leave the show at the end of the third series.
The 27-year-old, who is currently filming in Budapest, said playing Robin Hood was an "incredible experience" but he was looking for "new challenges".
According to producers, the Irish-born actor will bow out in an explosive and nail-biting finale.
How the story will unfold after Armstrong leaves remains a mystery.
